Sometimes referred to as the "man in the Wooden Hat",  Dan is a skilled artisan at making beautifully "well turned"  wood bowls, decorative items and yes, even hats.  Each of his pieces is distinctive,unique and artistic.

Joe paints in both watercolor and acrylics. His subjects include farm and rural scenes, waterscapes, sunsets and sunrises from many locations near and far.

Sherry Harper, Blue Goose Pottery

Sherry creates functional stoneware pottery that invites use and enjoyment everyday, not just on special occasions! Her focus on functional, durable, well-made pottery for the kitchen and home has been influenced by her life on a small working farm where she learned that anything handmade brings a greater enjoyment to life. She exhibits at many local art festivals and markets in the Eastern Panhandle.


Bill Friend, Woodcraft 

With over 40 years of experience in his craft, Bill uses wood that has been locally harvested and milled by his family. He enjoys integrating a variety of wood species into his handcrafted projects. His attention  to detail is showcased in every one of his distinctive and functional pieces.

Our Tour is made up of Berkeley County WV  artists and artisans who work out of their "home" studios to create the unique, inventive and beautiful. Often to understand and appreciate the value of something, you need to see it , touch it and know its "creator". Trails and Trees gives guests a chance to see creativity where it the artists and artisans and get a behind-the-scenes peek at the creative process!   The "Tour" is fun for the artists as well as the guests.

At her farm, Patricia creates hand spun art yarns, natural and colored, hand painted yarns, sculpture, ornaments and more from the wool produced by her Merino sheep. Her work mixes texture, dimension, color and whimsy inspired by nature and the beauty of our region.

Carol has been creating her breathtaking stained glass artwork for over 25 years. Using both traditional and non-traditional methods, she enjoys the process from concept and paper drawing to cutting, painting, kiln firing  to finished product. Her work always inspires a second look.

Mona Kissel, Polymer artistry,Jewelry and Art Cards

Mona has a fine eye for color and creative designs yielding contemporary one-of-a-kind polymer clay and beaded jewelry pieces with a focus on color, texture and contrast. She also designs unique peyote bead weaving , art cards and knitted cowls.

A signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society, Paul participates locally and regionally in various art events and groups. Inspiration for his work comes from his surroundings. He loves painting rural scenery, seascapes,birds & wildlife.



Matt Butterworth, Blown Glass Artistry

Working with infinite skill, Matt creates distinctive blown glass vases and formed glass items. Studying glass at Virginia Commonwealth University, he honed his craft to produce striking, artful pieces, some of which take hours of careful shaping over hot flames. His work combines both vitality and artistic skill and is shown at a number of venues.



Danny Trenary, VinTin Welding and Fabricating is a blacksmith and metal fabrication shop founded by Danny and Katie Trenary in 2008. In 2009, Danny's experience with welding paired naturally with his new found love of  blacksmithing. Their main focus has been to create custom ornamental iron to complement homes and businesses. Danny's ironwork possesses a beautiful and functional heirloom quality.


Kat Cimaglio, Acrylic Painter & Fiber Artist

Award winning artist (and goat owner) who also works in pen & wash and fiber art. Subjects include historic buildings, farm scenes, landscapes, animals and the vanishing rural character.
